English Article: Iron Maiden The Metal Band

At first, I was a little bit confused whether this article should be categorized as "Music" or "Bahasa". Although I've written 16 articles in Kompasiana so far, I'm sure most of you don't recognize me. 

It's OK, no problem. I'm still new here. Besides, writing is more like a hobby to me and not a way to become famous or something. The 16 articles I've written were spread out in many categories which is why my name might not be easy to memorize. Once again: it's OK. Just keep on writing, reading, and enjoying simple life. Anyway, I don't always write in English. Sometimes I write in bahasa Indonesia too. 

Iron Maiden is a heavy metal band from England. It was formed in 1975 by the bassist and song writer of the band: Steve Harris. He was then also becoming a producer too. 

Dave Murray (guitarist) was the second member of the band joining in 1976. So, they're considered as the formers of the band. Like any other new bands, it wasn't easy to become successful in their first 5 years of music career. At this moment (2021), the members of the band are: Bruce Dickinson (vocal), Steve Harris (bass), Dave Murray (guitar), Adrian Smith (guitar), Janick Gers (guitar), and Nicko McBrain (drum). Yes, there're 3 guitarists inside this band. 

The name of the band: Iron Maiden was derived from a movie titled The Man In The Iron Mask based on a novel by Alexander Dumas. Steve Harris watched that movie and saw a torture machine in the movie called Iron Maiden. He thought it was good for a band's name and decided to use it. So, Iron Maiden is a kind of torture machine, not a woman or a lady. 

According to a reliable source, Iron Maiden has released 17 studio albums, 13 live albums, and 4 EPs. Mostly, their songs are about history, literature, war, mithology, society, and religion. There're some songs with duration of time less than 4 minutes, but there're also some songs much longer... can reach the duration of time more than 10 minutes. 

I'm not a fanatical fan of Iron Maiden. I just like some of their albums, not all of them. So, I didn't mean to promote this band and their albums. I just like to practice my writing skill in English and it happens that this band is from England. OK, their newest album is: Senjutsu, released in September 2021. 

There're 10 tracks inside: 1. Senjutsu 2.Stratego 3. The Writing On The Wall 4. Lost In A Lost World 5. Days Of Future Past 6. The Time Machine 7. Darkest Hour 8. Death Of The Celts 9. The Parchment 10. Hell On Earth. No comment from me about this album because it had been released yet by the time I wrote this article. 

Until 2019, it is known that Iron Maiden has played in more than 2500 live shows worldwide, in front of more than 10 million of fans. Wow... They also ever played live in Indonesia: in Pantai Karnaval Ancol (Jakarta) on February 17th 2011 and in Garuda Wisnu Kencana (Bali) on February 20th 2011. I didn't come to these shows because I don't like live concerts. Well... you know, sometimes there're some "chaos" in live shows, especially in rock or metal music live shows. No mention that there might be some pickpockets too in open air live shows. So... jokingly speaking, what is fun to be in that kind of place? Hahaha...
