That afternoon, we went to a walking distance store

You said boring to stay at home

We couldn’t go to the other places by subway or bus

We went to the park nearby, but it was closed

You said you hate Sandy who was coming uninvited

That afternoon, I said to choose any books that you want

You were so confused, like a kid in the candy store

(Oh, I forgot, you are a kid … but in a novelty section!)

I suggested a pink cover activity book,

But you refused, as there aren’t any stickers in it.

Aha! How about a diary book Ma! You exclaimed

I want to write something on my diary.

We went home buying a green cover diary

The diary that you chose, as there are some flowers on the cover

That day till night, you were busy writing on your diary

Then, by smiling you gave me your green diary

Here Mama, you can read my diary

I was so thrilled to read your diary

There were some pages filled by your beautiful hand writing

Every pages has different story and different picture

The first page you wrote about a princess

The next page you wrote about a flower

The other page you wrote about the rainbow

The other page you wrote about a teddy bear

The other page you wrote about the sun

The other page you wrote about the heart

I was smiling and kissed you forehead

Did I do a good job Ma? You pleaded

I nodded and gave you a big O hug.

Sweetheart, I hope you will always share your diary

Whether you are six or sixteen, let me read your dairy

Even though your first page will be about a prince charming

The next pages will about the first flower that you received

The other pages will about the rainbow that coloring your heart

The other pages will about an ‘annoying Teddy Bear’

The other pages will about ‘a sun’ that arise in your day

The other pages will about who take your heart away.
