If I were President of Indonesia, I would do a couple of things to fight against COVID-19.
COVID-19  has messed up the  world in many sectors; an increasing rate of unemployment, medical products such as face masks, disinfectants, and hand sanitizers become treasures, panic buying and many more. The authorities have tried to be responsive and wise in dealing with these impacts.
Indonesia's government has tried dealing with  COVID-19 in many ways, such as large-scale social restrictions, regional quarantine, civil emergency, sanctions, and incentives.
I think that the government has done a pretty good job in handling the COVID-19 so far, however, it is not enough to stop it.
Increasing preventive and curative measures to manage outbreaks is very important for both reasons.Â
I would reallocate funds from less important matters such as government transport, government's spending on non-operational goods, salaries, reserved outputs, and etc. from the state expenditure budget to prioritize maximum support towards healthcare and prevention.
I would prepare multiple public hospitals as fast as possible - along with its tools and equipment which are capable of handling the coronavirus - preparing medical healthcare facilities to those ill or diseased, especially those infected by coronavirus. I will also request backup from every medical personnel possible, national or even international doctors. Of course a high wage would be given to medical personnels.
With additional healthcare facilities and personnels, we would be able to support Indonesia's citizens and hopefully "flatten the curve".
I would regulate laws regarding social and physical distancing, and work with news media to inform every citizen about the importance of physical and social distancing. The media can help authorized information from the government to reach out to almost every Indonesian citizen.
I would also negotiate and maintain Indonesia's relationship with international countries to be able to stop their citizens which have the possibility of being infected by COVID-19 and may spread the infection in Indonesia. Then I would stop most public or international transportation to stop the virus from moving in or moving out.
With the reallocated funds, I would prepare a part of it for subsidies for the citizens who are unable to work during the pandemy. This will also avoid them from travelling someplace else. This will help reduce the amount of people roaming around which have the chance to catch or spread the disease.
