Tipe-tipe Pesawat Komersial Berbadan Lebar (Wide Body)

Boeing 787 merupakan salah satu pesawat berbadan lebar bermesin ganda yang banyak digunakan oleh banyak maskapai penerbangan dan memiliki kemampuan untuk melakukan penerbangan jarak jauh. Penerbangan terjauh pernah dilakukan oleh salah satu maskapai penerbangan asal Australia yaitu Qantas. Penerbangan tersebut berangkat dari Buenos Aires (Argentina) menuju Darwin (Australia) dengan jarak 15.020 km dan lama waktu penerbangan adalah 17 jam 25 menit (Geoffrey Thomas, 2021). Selain itu, keunikan Boeing 787 yang paling menarik perhatian maskapai penerbangan di dunia adalah memiliki ujung sayap yang runcing. Hal tersebut menjadikan pesawat lebih hemat bahan bakar dan dapat bermanuver dengan cara yang lebih baik.

Beberapa maskapai penerbangan yang banyak mengoperasikan Boeing 787 adalah All Nippon Airways, United Airlines, Japan Airlines, American Airlines, Scoot,  Etihad Airways (Joanna Bailey, 2020).
