I am professional with more than 20 years of experience in conservation and sustainable development practice in Papua and West Papua, providing technical assistant to local leadership, civil, political, economic, social, and cultural development as well as training to indigenous people.
Since founding the Humeibou Environmental Association whilst studying for a degree in Agriculture at the State University of Papua in the mid-1990s and Master Degree in Law at Law Faculty from Cenderawasih University, Graduated 2016 I have been a pioneering human rights and environment activist and a central figure in West Papuan civil society movement, including serving as the head of the West Papuan NGO Forum from 2005-2012, Executive Secretary of Papuan People’s Network from 2013-2017 and Community Development Specialist of Bakti Foundation from 2017-2018. I have facilitated negotiations, strategic planning and capacity building skills and I have provided training and technical assistance to leaders and organizations across the spectrum of civil, political, economic, social, and cultural development and conservation and natural resource management issues.
I worked with traditional leaders, women, students, youth, government and private enterprise, and I am highly skilled in developing and implementing participatory research methodologies relating to social and environmental issues as well rural economic development. I have local and, international recognition fora for human rights issues, good governance, peace building, customary community rights and forestry issues, and political issues in Papua.
