Types of Hobbies and Its Benefits

A hobby is the best form of recreation to mind and body. People's hobbies differ very much according to the character of the person itself. They have hobbies because doing what they love can bring happiness and joy towards their lives. Hobbies lets a person know what they will do at their own leisure time. There are many interesting activities that they can do such as enrichment hobbies, outdoors hobbies, and sports activities.

The first type of hobbies is enrichment hobbies which can help prevent bad habits and waste your time. Besides, it can improve skills and enhance knowledge because a hobby that you really dedicate your time will lead you to build new skills. 

As you spend more time at your hobby, you will become better and better on it. Moreover, this type of hobbies also can enrich your life and give you a different perspective on things. 

No matter what hobby you choose, you will definitely be exposed to new ideas. And it helps you grow in various ways, including exposing you to new opinions and to new ways to look at life. The example of enrichment hobbies are such as foreign language study, reading, writing/blogging, music/musical instruments, and many others.

Second, outdoors hobbies are the activity that getting outside and offering an amazing beauty nature. Fresh air helps a lot to feel better after a hard week spent in college or at work. 

One of the examples is gardening. Gardening teaches us the wonders of plant life. It is a source of great pleasure to watch the seeds sprout into plants with tiny and tender leaves. We enjoy the fresh air the cool breeze and the pleasant shade of trees. 

The sweet smelling flowers make the air fragrant. It refreshes the brain and invigorates the body. Moreover, outdoors hobbies are also an additional way to leave from the comfort zones and overcome their fears of heights, trauma or others. And it can make a person better and richer social life too.

Then, sports activities are a physical activity to keep your bodies fit and healthy. You may do some activities like jogging/walking, horseback riding, yoga, volleyball, bowling, soccer, and others. 

All of them can build a good health and help you to have a healthy life style. Moreover, research has found that engaging in enjoyable activities such as sport activities during down time associate with lower blood pressure, total cortisol, waist circumference, and body mass index. 

Engaging in these activities also correlates to higher levels of positive psychosocial states and lower levels of depression and negative affect. Besides, it also can help a person discover their skills and how to improve them further.
