LUPIC, South Korea, Support for Small Scale Chemistry (SSC) Kit to Chemistry Department, FMNS UPI

Faculty of Mathematic and Natural Sciences (FMNS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia have reached collaboration for more than one year with Leading University Project for International Cooperation (LUPIC), Sogang University, South Korea. Together with UPI, 2 universities also joint on this cooperation, they are Unnes, and Undiksha. This cooperation will be run until 2029. One of the goals of this cooperation on the 1st year is purchasing 20 sets of SSC. Moreover, LUPIC also support for 20 sets of small hotplate with overall dimensions (LxWxH): 200 x 120 x 90 mm, 20 small statif, and 40 sets of small clamp.

LUPIC coordinator from Sogang Unicersity, South Korea, Prof. Won Koo Lee in the opening ceremony fablab said that he was very satisvied with the cooperation, he hoped that by supporting 20 set of SSC can decrease the used of chemical and support for green chemistry. 'I hope that this SSC can incread student motivation, decrease chemical used in laboratory, and support green chemistry, as stated in the SDGs' goal", said Prof. Lee. At the opening ceremony also May 14th at building C FMNS UPI, the SSC kit was symbolized given by Pro. Lee to UPI Rector, Prof. Dr. H.M. Solehuddin, MA., M.Pd.

Furthermore, the SSC kit were place in the Fablab Edu UPI management who responsible to the cooperation with LUPIC from UPI side. And on May 20th, the 20 sets of SSC were handed over from LUPIC-UPI representative cooperation, Triannisa Rahmawati, S.Pd., M.Si., to the head of Organic and Biochemistry Laboratorium, Amelinda Pratiwi, M.Si. The 20 sets of SSC and other accessories was equal to almost 300 millions rupiah and placed in the Organic and Biochemistry Laboratorium, JICA Building, FMNS UPI A, 5th floor.

The SSC itself is a kit contain many kind small laboratorium equipment glasswere, and more focus for organic chemistry experiment, such as synthesis, isolation, purification of many kind natural product, material, etc. This SSC was design by Prof. Dr. Asep Kadarohman, M.Si, a lecturer from Chemistry and Chemistry Education Study Program, and produced by PT. Iwaki Glass Indonesia. (tr)
