Who says making a difference can't be fun? On November 30, 2024, a group of spirited students from UIN Walisongo Semarang traded their usual classroom vibe for the breezy shores of Maron Beach. The mission? To clean up the environment while having a blast!

The activity was part of an exciting event called "Environment Clean Up: Reduce Reuse Recycle," spearheaded by the Event Organizer class under the guidance of their lecturer, Fania Mutiara Savitri, M.M. It wasn't just about picking up trash---it was about creating a movement for a greener future.

The two-day event kicked off on November 29 with a seminar at the Planetarium Theater, where experts like Alridho Deska Briandoko, S.H., M.Psi., shared eye-opening tips on waste management. "Did you know that separating your trash at home can make a huge difference? It's all about small changes," Alridho explained. His talk sparked plenty of "aha!" moments among the students, who were eager to put their newfound knowledge into action.

And action they took! The next day, the students hit Maron Beach equipped with gloves, trash bags, and a whole lot of enthusiasm. There were laughs, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose as they combed the beach for plastic waste and other litter.

"It's not just cleaning up; it's a way to show love to the planet," said Ahmad Faza Maulana, the event's chairperson. "Plus, doing it with friends makes it so much more fun!"

After a productive morning, the team wrapped up with group photos, snacks, and a casual discussion about how they could keep the green spirit alive. Ideas flew, from creating eco-friendly campaigns on campus to organizing more events like this in the future.

This wasn't just another weekend outing---it was a meaningful adventure that combined environmental care with camaraderie. The best part? Everyone walked away with a sense of accomplishment and a reminder that small actions can lead to big changes.

So, next time you're at the beach, why not bring along a trash bag? Who knows, you might just have as much fun as these UIN Walisongo students did!
