Day by day, there are more and more soap operas in Indonesia that make Indonesians nervous, especially for parents because television shows are now being judged to only pursue the rating of the show and ignore the content. So it's as if the filter for broadcasts that should be in every soap opera becomes limited to writing (logos) in the bottom corner of the screen.
The soap opera (Suara Hati Istri) entitled Zahra has recently become a viral public conversation. The soap opera that aired on Indosiar and has aired several episodes has received criticism from the public, because there are many controversies regarding the soap opera spectacle. Among them is an actor named Zahra, played by a newcomer actress named Lea Ciarachel Fourneaux. Zahra, played by Lea, turns out to be a minor, which is 15 years old. At a very young age, Zahra has to play the actor as the third wife of Mr. Tirta's husband in the soap opera whose real name is Panji Saputra. This is one that has been criticized by the public because it is considered an act of child exploitation
Another thing that was criticized by the public from the soap opera was that several scenes were considered unreasonable and immoral when Zahra was in the room. Pak Tirta kissed zahra's forehead while sleeping, even though zahra was still a minor, which then zahra started to get pregnant because of their relationship. The moment after that their relationship became more romantic and was considered very excessive. Because we know that Zahra's status is still underage. And this scene is considered by the public as an act of sexual exploitation.
In the screening of soap operas in Indonesia. KPI has set it in the law Indonesian Broadcasting Commission Regulation Number 03/P/KPI/12/2009 Year 2009 concerning Broadcast Program Standards. This soap opera has violated many laws and regulations regarding broadcast program standards, namely in the form of protecting the rights of children, youth, and women. Broadcast programs must pay attention to and protect the interests of children, youth, and women. Special broadcast programs for adults are prohibited from involving children As well as the restriction and prohibition of sexuality Broadcast programs must have restrictions on sexual scenes, according to the classification of broadcast programs.
Seeing this, the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (Kemen PPPA) directly flicked the soap opera "Suara Hati Istri: Zahra" which was broadcast on Indosiar. The Ministry of PPA emphasized that the show was a form of violation of children's rights in which 15-year-old children were given a role as third wife and polygamous. Therefore, KPI is expected to be able to be more assertive in filtering soap operas or films on Indonesian screens
