Community Service by Muhammadiyah Students has succeeded in realizing positive changes in the management of Soheden tourism in SOCO Village. The PMM group consisting of Bimo Adi Maulana, Isma Aprilylyani Wardani, Joya Thasya Ikrimah Mardjun, Siti Fadhillah Nurazizah, and Muhammad Fadly Agil Rizad under the guidance of Mrs. Firda Amalia, carried out this activity on October 19, 2023. This Community Service Activity by Students (PMM) is to apply the Downstream Research Results of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). PMM also is a program of Muhammadiyah Malang university that aims to make a positive contribution to communities in need.Â
Soco Village was chosen as an object of assistance because of Soheden's tourism potential. This activity is designed to provide strategic assistance to improve business management and development at the location. Thanks to the mentoring efforts that have been carried out, there has been a significant increase in the number of visitors to Soheden tourism.
Mentoring does not only stop at management, but also involves creating content that aims to viralize Soheden tourism. These contents, created by students, are uploaded on PMM students' Instagram accounts with the username @mitradosen.wisatasoheden. In addition, content was also given to Soheden to upload on their social media.
The resulting content includes Soheden tourism introductions, viral educational content, and interesting materials tailored to the booming trends among the public. In its content, this group involves locations and places of interest in SOHEDEN tourism in Soco Magetan Village, so that people can clearly see the beauty and tourism potential offered. "The reason for choosing descriptive content is to be able to describe what is in Soheden tourism, besides that it also follows current content or trends so that the range is wider the concept of entertaining but also introduces the tour itself and also so that each facility can be shown in one video," said Dhila as PDD from the 57 PMM group of Soheden tourism lecturer partners
The creation of this content is not only to promote Soheden tourism, but also to create public awareness of the beauty and potential of local tourism. By involving educational elements in its content, PMM group of 57 Soheden tourism lecturer partners hopes to increase public interest and appreciation of Soheden tourism.
The positive impact of this effort is not only felt in the increase in the number of visitors at this time, but also expected to have a long-term impact. With the increasing popularity and appreciation of Soheden tourism, it is hoped that this tour can become a destination that is in demand by people from various regions. Said Isma as group secretary, "I think after the content has an impact, we can measure how the formulation of the problem formulation can be resolved through the content because the content can have a good impact on partners that mentoring can be successful, the long impact must be the impact of people who initially did not know that there was potential for the village to know and did not rule out the possibility that people would be interested"
Through community service by students (PMM), students not only become agents of change in the academic environment, but also play an active role in advancing and promoting local potential. The sustainability of this activity is the main key in ensuring the sustainability of Os's tourism growth in the future.
