postmodernism is an intellectual movement that was born in response to some of the themes put forward by modernists or modernists which were first articulated during the Enlightenment. The era of postmodernism itself is only limited to the end of the 20th century. Some experts sometimes mention that the postmodernism era began after World War II ended because of the existential disappointment due to the Holocaust. ads In addition, the birth of postmodernism was placed in the 1960s when modernism was no longer productive. Postmodernism does not manifest itself only in philosophies such as ontology, epistemology, and axiology or theory, but postmodernism is a much more comprehensive concept that encompasses art, architecture and criticism. Theorists agree that there are two notions of postmodernism namely, first, postmodernism as a reaction to the aesthetics of modernism in the first half of the 20th century in architecture, art, and literature. And second, postmodernism as a reaction to the tradition of modernity that has lasted a long time during the Middle Ages. The second meaning is often referred to as postmodernity or postmodernity because it refers to the many historical and social aspects of postmodernism. The second meaning is also related to poststructuralism which satirical rejection of the bourgeois and elitist Enlightenment culture. Without this difference, postmodernism might not have a central hierarchy or clear organizing principles, which embody complexity, contradiction, ambiguity, diversity, and extreme interconnectedness. However, its general characteristics are usually considered to include rejection of grand narratives, rejection of absolute and universal truths, signified absence, disorientation, use of parody, simulations without originals, end of capitalism, and globalization. Regarding signification, we can further understand the semiotics of communication, Ferdinand De Saussure's semiotics, Charles Sander Peirce's semiotics, and Roland Barthes's
