Climate change is one of the concerns that people nowadays feel, especially for the college students that are studying in one of the biggest cities in Indonesia which is at Surabaya. The constant rising temperatures, unpredictable rainfall, and other environmental issues begin to affect their daily life. The noticeable climate change in Surabaya is the constant rise of the temperature, especially at noon, which can hinder the students' daily activity in their campus.

A recent Study by climate change shows that the temperature rise caused by climate change has approximately increased by more than 1.5C which is the average temperature of world Global Warming. Although it was only temporarily the fact that it was above the world level of warming that the countries who signed the Paris Agreement have agreed to try to stay below, it can be concerning especially in this case for the college students.

To better understand the current situation, we have interviewed Rizal. A student that is currently studying at one of the campuses in Surabaya.

"The rise of temperature is really troublesome for me personally." Rizal said "I used to study independently at Campus garden. But lately the heat is becoming more unbearable. I have to change where I study, which means I have to adapt to another place again. It is quite troublesome to study independently at the new place that I am not getting used to yet it makes my studying progress hindered."

Rizal also explains that it's not only about the study that bothers him. "It's not only that I have to change places to study independently but it's about transportation." Rizal explained "The motorcycle that I used is quite old and the distance from the place I stay to the Campus is really far. Well it's not a problem at first but as time goes by and the heat keeps rising. The engine of my motorcycle also gets hot. It makes me go to bike repair shops quite regularly, which makes me spend a lot of money, you can say."

The rising temperatures not only affect social problems but it is also affected on the Education side where not only their learning environment is disturbed because of the rising temperature that make students having difficulty to concentrate it also troubling students if their Campus is far from the place they reside since it can also affect their means of transportation.

Climate Change is increasingly affecting the daily lives of college students in Surabaya. Rising temperatures disturb their learning environment, for example student like Rizal feeling annoyed that he has to search and adapt to a new place to study independently. The constant heat also hinders their ability to focus and adapt to their surroundings making both academic and personal activities more difficult. The broader effects of climate change, such as unpredictable weather patterns, further exacerbate these challenges, emphasizing the urgent need for solutions to lessen its impact on education and daily life in urban areas like Surabaya.
