Brandom (1994), additionally, has contributed an inferential meaning in language use -- that is, playing a language game in life, speakers should be able to give and ask for reasons. His inferential theory has the potential to evade the objections made. He adds, clarifies, and makes a connection between language meaning and inference in the language games more explicitly. Inferentialism encompasses all of language uniformly. Language is the defining characteristic of our being - thinking, concept-bearing, rational creatures that abide by the force of sound reasoning.
