Her name is Rose. She is perhaps not as popular as Christine Hakim, who acts for many movies during her life. She is also not as royal as Queen Elisabeth, who leads United Kingdom. Moreover, she is even not as smart as Marie Curie, who won Nobel Prize and become the most famous woman scientist who has ever lived on earth. Rose is a simple woman, but really inspiring me with her dream.

She is 87 years old when she fulfilled her dream as she began her freshman year at college in United State. How old are you when you begin your first year at university? See?! 17 years old and 87 years old.
At her first day of college, her lecturer wanted everyone to make friend. She met her new friend, named Dan Clark, who asked her why she wanted to go to college in her ‘teenage’ period. Rose said, “I go to college to find a rich husband, after that I got married, having two children of my own, and having tour.”
“Seriously, come on!” Dan asked Rose. He was so curious about her motivation to take this challenge in her age at that time. “Since a very long time, I desired to study in higher education and now I can do it,” she replied.
During the year, Rose became so famous among her collegues. Everyone loved and treated her very well. When she was invited to speak in front of her college friends for a special party, she talked about a very special thing.
For me, it’s a great reminder. She said, “We never stop playing because of getting old; we become old because we stop playing. There are only two things to stay young: being happy and achiving dream. You should laugh and find out humor everyday. You must have dream. If you lost your dream, you died. So many people died but they never aware of it. There is a big difference between getting old and growing mature.”
Rose is 87 years old, she will be 88 years old by doing or not doing something. I am 24 years old. If I stay home and do nothing, I still can reach 25 years old. Everyone can be older, you do not need a special skill to be it. The most important thing is growing mature by discovering chances in every changes.
Do not ever regret on anything. An elder usually never regrets for what they have done, but regretting for what they have not done yet. According to Rose’s story, we can see a beautiful of dream, no matter how old you start. It is not about you are getting old that stopping you, but when you lost your dream.
I almost lost my hope, when I failed to get scholarship for my master degree, but her story somehow changed me. I don’t mean to continue my study at her age, Eighty Seven, but I will not give up on my dream. I will always have days to mourn my failure, but the day is not today. Because today is the day that I have to fight for another battle to achieve my dream.
Back to Rose. A week after her graduation from college, Rose passed away in her sleep peacefully. More than 2000 college students attended her funeral to honour a very amazing woman, who teach through example, that it is never too late to fight for what you may achieve.
