Landak - The Tengon Upas community is currently busy harvesting yellowing rice in their respective fields and there are also people who participate in mutual cooperation. Rice harvesting is the process of collecting or harvesting ripe rice. It is an important stage in the rice farming cycle, where the ripe grains are collected for use as food or as seeds for the next planting season. Rice harvesting is done once a year.

The rice harvesting process is still done manually. In harvesting rice manually, the Tengon Upas community uses tools such as a ketam. After that the rice is collected and then dried using a tarpaulin to dry so that the process of cleaning the rice grains from the straw easily, the upas community uses traditional tools commonly called or known as "hanyah" by the local community.

The people of Tengon Upas always work together and have an extraordinary spirit to cooperate with other community members. They work together to collect the harvest. This can strengthen social ties and community solidarity. A bountiful rice harvest can increase farmers' income and strengthen the rural economy.

After harvesting, paddy can be used directly as food such as rice or dried and stored in a warehouse for future use. The collected paddy can also be further processed to produce products such as flour, rice or other foodstuffs. A successful rice harvest is a result of the efforts and skills of the farmer as well as factors such as climate, and pest control that affect the growth and production of the rice plant.

Rice income in the fields this year is better than last year's rice income, because the weather factor is quite favorable so that the rice grows quite well. "Said the local community".

The main challenge faced by us field farmers is that limited access to irrigation water can make it difficult to keep crops fertile, especially in areas that experience drought. And infestations of pests and plant diseases can also reduce yields and cause financial losses. To overcome this, if the rain does not fall and there is a continuous drought, we are forced to water with water in parts that are too dry and to overcome pest attacks and plant diseases we usually spray using special poisons for pests and plant diseases. "Said the local community".

We feel very happy when it is time to harvest rice in the fields because we can harvest the results of our own hard work. "Said the local community".

Our hope for the future is that the rice harvest will always be as good as this year so that we can continue to fulfill our daily needs until the following year. "Said the local community".
