Untag Surabaya Community Service Program 2020 Establishment of Health Protocol in Education

17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya University is currently holding a Community Service Program (KKN) this August by implementing various programs made by the students to the students’ nearby residences.

This is considered to be the most effective way to hold the program especially due to the pandemics. The program is enacted in accordance to the health protocol published by the department of health in order to avoid the spread of the pandemics to the resident of the aforementioned residences.

The program is done in 12 days where each students is accompanied by a Field Advisor to assist in the implementation of the student’s work program by giving direction and advice whenever the student faces a complication in the field. On that note, one of the many field advisors that has been deployed on the field is Sayidah Aulia'ul Haque, S.Psi., M.Psi.

One of the students that is currently working on the program is a law student by the name, Dwi Putri S.A. She has been allocated to one of a junior high school in Sidotopo Wetan Baru No. 37, SMP Wachid Hasyim 1 Surabaya. Her program is about the establishment of health protocol in institution of education, which in this case, is SMP Wachid Hasyim 1.

“Putri said that the action and awareness of every education workforce to follow the health protocol are of extreme importance. This is especially done to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in that educational institution. She has also planned the following program yield:

1. Health Protocol Animation which can be utilized as fun and friendly study material for the students.
2. Health Protocol Simulation Video enacted by the workforce of SMP Wachid Hasyim 1 Surabaya.
3. Counseling for the institution’s workforce regarding procedure and technical details to implement protocol of health in the institution on August 14th 2020 by following health protocols. This counseling is done by the assistance of one of the teacher of SMP Wachid Hasyim 1, Kuncahyaning F.S.,S.Pd.,M.Pd as one of the panel speakers.
4. Pouch bags which contain personal equipment to meet the requirement of personal health protocol such as: Hand Sanitizer, Mask, A pair of spoon and fork, Guide book of Health protocol, and Stickers denoting a suggestion to follow the health protocol.

It is hoped that the implementation of the Community Service Program at SMP Wachid Hasyim is beneficial to the institution’s workforce. By being aware and obeying the health protocol, we will be able to do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to our living environment.
