through waving palms, the Savior sighed
a king they hailed, with cloaks they spread
yet soon to face a thorny bed
in temple courts, His voice did rise
cleansing the space from compromise
a house of prayer, He did proclaim
but merchants there pursued their gain
His heart was heavy, burdened sore
foreseeing what was to endure
betrayed by one among His own
yet love He showed, to all was shown
the path ahead, a daunting road
yet for mankind, His love bestowed
a sacrifice, for sinners made
upon that cross, His life He laid
oh, Palm Sunday, a solemn day
to ponder on the price He'd pay
for in His triumph, we find grace
redemption shines in Jesus' face
