He then hurried everybody to get to the transit counter and then shown their tickets while having their bags checked. Of course Rory was worrying about his box-packed bicycle because he was afraid that it might be accidentally left behind by the staff at the Heathrow Airport. Since he doesn't have too much time to worry about things, he gets on board quickly and takes the middle row seat.

While up in the air, he didn't have much to do but to fiddle with the in-flight entertainment using which he listens to some music and watches “Casino Royale”, one of his liked films. After the film, he got some sleep and woke up five hours later. He forgot that he could not have a shower because there were no showers on board. So he just cleaned his face with some facial tissue and drank a lot of water to boost his awareness after the weird sleep on the passenger seat.

Ten minutes before they reached Kuala Lumpur, every passengers got back to their seats and fasten their seat belts as the landing manoeuvre began – well, not every passengers. Rory has himself in a tight situation in the toilet. The plane was swinging left and right giving him a very hard time in there, it's not pleasant at all and it could be best forgotten by everyone involved in it. Despite the crazily tight situation, the plane landed safely and he came out unscathed.

“Hey Iain, have you seen your brother?”

“I saw him going to the toilet just right before we started descending. He might be flushed away.”

“Hey, hey, that's rude on me, Iain. I had to hold on to my spine in there.”

“I assume you tried to keep yourself clean in there. You did well, brother.”

“Well, take your backpack quickly, our next flight is half an hour away.”

“As long as I can get some nice drink, I'll be fine.”

“Hey brother. I was just thinking, what are we going to do when we get there?”

“We find the booked hotel.”

“Yeah I know that too, idiot. I mean what kind of places will we visit?”

“There are beaches, shopping centres, hills, and a go-kart track.”

“Oh that's why you brought the bike.”

“Yes, when I have nothing to do I'm going to tackle the hills. Oh, speaking about the bike, we have to take the luggages, come on.”

“Hold on, did the bike got on board?”

“Oh yes, I made sure of it.”

What Rory did was secretly walk out of the waiting room and sneak around the plane he'll get on board to Kuala Lumpur and tries to spot his box-packed bike. He couldn't find it at first and then he got to the management's office and stole a high-visibility jacket and then look for his bike. He eventually found it and then rallies it to the plane just before the airport officers finished loading the cargo. Of course the airport officer thanked him for bringing the bike over and they didn’t realize that he isn’t even one of the airport officers. After that, he hurried back to the waiting room after returning the jacket he stole earlier. What he did was brilliant but at the same time lacking second thought because if he got caught, he might not get out of Britain.

But since his bike is on his possession before they get to the transit counter, he didn't have to do the same thing again. The family then reported themselves to the transit counter before proceeding further. After reporting to the transit counter, he called an old friend of his at Batam. His name is Andre. Andre and Rory were close mates back at Scotland before Andre moved to Batam with his parents three years ago.

“Andre? You there?”

“Rory! Have you landed in Batam?”

“I'm close now. I'm in Kuala Lumpur.”

“I see. So who's going to pick you up when you get here?”

“By taxi? I don't know, mate. We have so much luggage here. I've got to ask my parents about it.”

“Ring me on any updates you have. Just do it via SMS okay? I'm losing 50 pence per minute spend on calling you from here.”

“Is that so? I thought I should be the one who loses credits for receiving international phone calls.”

“Maybe we both do. Anyway, thanks for calling me. I can't wait to have fun with you again once you get here. See you around.”

“I'll look forward to it. It's what mates are for.”

“Hey brother, you got mates there?”

“Don't you remember Andre? You've met him before.”

“Well, we don't actually hang out together so I can't tell if I remember.”

“Then I'll re-introduce you to him when we get there.”

“Oh yeah, what time is it now?”

“Ten minutes past three, what is it?”

“We have to get on board.”

“Ah yes, let's get on with it.”

With the first holiday destination getting close, Rory took yet another nap while in the air. By the time he woke up, the aircraft is only ten minutes away from landing in the Hang Nadim International Airport. He was surprised to see the sun was about to set in Indonesia. He had not known yet that there was about 7-hour time difference between Glasgow and Batam. A few confusing moments later, the aircraft successfully touched down and they have reached their first holiday destination.
