Social Crime: Sexual Harassment of Children

Sexual harassment is an act committed by an adult or older person to satisfy their sexual needs and the object used is children. There are a lot of cases of sexual abuse of children in Indonesia. KemenPPPA noted that sexual harassment of children has increased to reach 9,588 cases by 2022 in Indonesia. It makes Indonesia declared a state of emergency of sexual violence against children. The causes of this sexual harassment vary widely, firstly because of the strong relationship between the perpetrator and the victim, which should be able to protect the victims well, and then because of sexual abuse. There have been many cases like this in Indonesia, and one of the cases has been sexual assault in Madiun. The AP-initiated victim, who was only 17 years old, confessed to being raped by her father, grandfather, and uncle until the victim eventually fled the house in search of a safe place.
