What is Papercraft?

This time I will discuss another interesting favorite hobby called Papercraft. Papercraft in the eyes of some people is simply the art of paper folding and doesn't require much effort to do it. I would point out that the papercraft is not limited to Origami. Papercraft can be a serious hobby with stunning results. Experts made a papercraft model based on the appropriate scale. As the name implies, this craft using a paper based materials. Papercraft by definition is a hobby of making three-dimensional model using basic materials such as heavy paper, paperboard or card stocks. Papercraft is not the same as origami. Papercraft activities involves paper cutting and pasting each of pieces together with glue. Similar to the history of model kits in general, papercraft became famous since the second world war. At that time, the paper material production is not regulated because they are not dangerous. After the war, papercraft popularity had declined when plastic model kit was getting it's own popularity.
