“College or not?”. “Or Work”. Surely it is a question that seem to occur to the students of Senior High School in Indonesia, even it becomes a very serious question to be answered by them. Where does their life walk, where would their careers be placed, and where are they going to achieve success, of course it depends on what they choose. Certainly there are much confusion that arises, and haunt the mind of the road which will be pursued.
Transition from the level of education in Senior High School to the study of University is the period in which there are many choices to be selected to be lived, and was led into the future. Almost in all corners of Indonesia, we can find a lot of students who after graduation did not proceed to university. This is due to several factors, factors which cause why the they can not continue their studies.
The first in Indonesia generally is economic problem, it can make Indonesians didn’t continue their study, because they come from families that do not support its economy. In the lecture course all purposes, whether it needs to buy books, making the task or other purposes, would require that his name is money. Especially if they choose their studies to go out of town or away from their family, then automatically also it requires a fee for everyday.
In the fact, there are opportunities that can be used for they who have academic that’s good. They can enter one of the universities that they want to by using an Aim of Mission, where on this line they will be assisted to financial problems, but it only applies to the students who have good academic.
Second, because there is interest. Many things that cause why there is no interest of a student. Maybe they thought that college is very tiring, boring, draining a lot of minds, so that the they ware afraid to live it.
Actually there are many factors that may affect a student does not continue his studies at university. Factors already mentioned earlier is a common factor that we hear and see. For many people, education is important, but perhaps there is also the opinion that if we can read and count, it’s enough.
Having a child who has a title, of course, is the desire and pride to the elderly. But there are things that deserve our attention.
As i see at present, the number of students in South Kalimantan grows, why can it be said as like that? Because right now in South Borneo, there are already many universities. For example, we are prospective student, in using choice, we must consider the “opportunity” for the future. Before we choose the direction that we are interested in, we also have to look at the situation and condition at the present time, whether we choose majors in the future it is necessary or not, and whether there is a shadow that we will be successful if we take that majors; nevertheless, we must have faith and confidence in choosing majors.
The last, the choice of which will we choose, it determines how our future will be. Of course, the big hope all want to succeed and have a bright future. We need to build our own lives into the future is bright. In essence, learning, trying ,and praying are the things that we need to make the Indonesia future bright.
