The Komodo dragon, scientifically known as Varanus komodoensis, is an amazing reptile that lives on several Indonesian islands. It is the biggest lizard in the world and has been around for a very long time. The Komodo dragon looks really impressive and can be a bit scary. Grown-up males can be as long as 3 meters and weigh more than 70 kilograms. They have strong bodies, powerful legs, and a long tail. Their skin has colors like gray, green, and brown, which helps them blend in with their surroundings. The most special thing about the Komodo dragon is its sharp teeth, which have jagged edges and can cause deadly bites. Komodo dragons are at the very top of the food chain. They eat a lot of different animals like deer, wild pigs, birds, and small reptiles. Even though they are big, they can move very quietly and quickly. Their strong jaws and poisonous spit, which has harmful bacteria and toxins, help them catch and eat their prey.
