The snack business is one of the most frequently foundculinary businesses in Indonesia. Snack is a food term that is not the mainmenu (breakfast, lunch or dinner). Snacks can be traditional foods or snacks, such as various fried foods.

Assorted Fried foods are various types of food that aredipped in flour dough and then fried in a lot of hot cooking oil. Fried foodshave become consumption to meet human biological needs, but not only that friedfoods have also become a lifestyle among people, which not only provide tasteand energy supply for the body, but also the need to gather together.

However, since the policy to stop the highest retail price(HET) for cooking oil on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, where the price of food andbeverage oil, which was originally Rp.11,500 thousand to Rp.14,000 thousand perliter, fried food traders inevitably increased the price of the fried foodunit.

Like my interview on September 24, 2022, where I intervieweda snack seller named Mrs. inah (60 years old) whose merchandise was alsoaffected by the soaring price of cooking oil. The snacks sold are noodles, nuggets, fish balls, tofu, sausages, spring rolls, chicken meatballs, andotak-otak. Where all these selling ingredients are fried first before beingsold.

She who usually sells fried foods for Rp.1,000 increases toRp.1,500 per piece, this has an impact on sales which can usually reachRp.100,000 thousand per day to Rp.75,000 thousand per day because many peoplereduce their consumption of fried foods. This has been going on for almost 2months, but because people are used to consuming fried foods, in May sales havestarted to rise again, which can reach Rp.120,000 per day. Here is Graph of Mrs. Inah income for the last 8 months
