Indonesia Menuju New York (Imagine Cup 2011: Local Final)

Langkah terakhir menuju New York! Ya, tanggal 15 April kemarin adalah pengumuman bagi 4 finalis di ajang tahunan bergengsi Imagine Cup. Imagine Cup sendiri adalah kompetisi teknologi untuk mahasiswa, yang diadakan oleh Microsoft Corporation. Kompetisi prestisius ini diadakan secara rutin setiap tahun, dan di tahun 2011 ini memasuki tahun ke-9. Tema Imagine Cup untuk tahun 2011 ini adalah Imagine a world where technology helps solve the world’s toughest problems. Nah, saat ini kompetisi menuju tahap akhir untuk tingkat nasional. Dengan 4 tim yang berhasil masuk babak final yakni :

1. Gatotkaca (IT Telkom dan ITB) Proyek = ChildhoodChildhood is a project that is built to educate mothers on healthy eating habits for children and monitor child's development milestone in each age.” 2. Eqlips (IT Telkom) Proyek = CoronaCORONA stands for Cardiovascular Remote Monitoring and Assessment. As we read what’s it stand for, CORONA  is  a wellness monitoring  solution  that  provides meaningful  and  insightful  physiological  data especially  heart  rate  to  patients,  caregivers,  physician  or  doctor  in  support  of  higher  quality, more efficient and less costly cardiovascular healthcare.” 3. DreamBender (IT Telkom) Proyek = EcoMarketEcoMarket is a cloud based receipt system. It works by transferring digital purchase receipt to the cloud in every transaction in store, and providing ways for the customer to view and manage the receipt.” 4. Gadjah Mada (UGM) Proyek = AgrionOne of the significant challenge faced by the agricultural field is dealing the unpredictable climate change which affects the water scheduling for plantation. Agrion comes as a solution to calculate water needs of each plant in every growth level. Using this system, farmers could measure how much water they should provide in accordance with rainfall and the type of land. In addition, it will support farmers’ assistant to arrange the irrigation schedule based on customized data of each farmer. In the long term, the assistants and local government could set policies regarding the suitable plants in each month by using the systems to find the best partners in selling and buying harvests.”
