Indonesia's Response to The Korean Wave

The rapid development of the Korean wave in Indonesia requires Indonesia to respond to the impact of the Korea wave, which is the destruction of Indonesian culture, so in its efforts Indonesia seeks to promote the culture that exists in Indonesia not only domestically but also promotes the culture of Indonesia in South Korea and is called the Indonesian wave. The Cultural House of Indonesia is a public space to introduce the cultural wealth of the Indonesian nation to the world in order to enhance the image, appreciation and building the (cultural) bonds of the international community towards Indonesia. Many countries are trying to gain legitimacy through cultural diplomacy. It seems that the issue of cultural claims has resulted in the government taking a stance to save the cultural wealth of Indonesia by starting to preserve all the cultural riches that exist in Indonesia. Both in the form of art, customs, or traditional games, so that the culture that exists in Indonesia can be known by South Korean people even the world. Indonesia also carried out batik diplomacy in South Korea as a form of Introducing batik as one of the cultures that exist in Indonesia and the batik diplomacy that Indonesia did can be said to be successful in raising the awareness and interest of batik towards the international scope of Indonesia's batik. From KBRI Indonesia in Seoul South Korea, which has held an advanced gamelan class at the Seoul Institute of the Art since 2018 as a form of making gamelan as a foreign ethnic musical instrument taught to students in South Korea this action is carried out to introduce the culture of Indonesia to young people of South Korea.
