The National Level of The Waked Dance Festival In Selomangleng With KKN Students of Malang University

In commemoration of the 1143th anniversary of the City of Kediri, Students of the State University of Malang KKN (Real Work Course) collaborated with the Samandiman Whip Team from Kemasan for the Samandiman Whip Championship event. 

The whipping championship will be held in the Selomangleng Tourism area, Kediri on Saturday 23 July and Sunday 24 July 2022. The championship starts at 09.00 WIB. This championship was not only attended by residents of Kediri but from Jember, Blitar, Nganjuk, Tulungagung to Papua also participated in the Samandiman Whip Championship.

The Samandiman Whip Championship on July 23, 2022 was opened by a whip dance performance. The whip dancers wear dance costumes that have been designed by students of the State University of Malang KKN (Real Work Course). After being opened by the whip dance, 

the next event was the opening of the Kediri Samandiman Whip Championship as well as the inauguration and handover of the Kediri Samandiman Whip HKI which was directly handed over by the Mayor of Kediri, Abdullah Abu Bakar. After the inauguration and submission, 

the next activity from the Samandiman Whip Championship went straight to the whipping championship which was divided into two categories, namely the children's singles category and the women's singles category of all ages. 

The following day the Samandiman Whip Championship was opened with a whip dance performance from the Samandiman Whip Team Kemasan. The dancers from Pecut Samandiman Kemasan also wore costumes designed by students of the State University of Malang KKN (Real Work Course). On the second day of the championship, the categories contested were the singles category for men of all ages.

With the Samandiman Whip Championship, it is hoped that it can preserve whipping culture in Indonesia. Besides whips, it is also expected to inspire people to preserve other cultures in Indonesia, more or less the Samandiman Whip Championship.
