How Climate Change Affects Life on Earth

"Climate" is the average of the weather conditions at a given point on the Earth. Typically, climate is expressed in terms of expected temperature, precipitation, and wind conditions based on historical observations. Earth's climate is always changing and we used to call it climate change. Climate change is a significant change in climate, air temperature, rainfall ranging from tens of years to millions of years. Climate change refers to changes in temperature and long-term weather patterns. The world is now about 1.1C warmer than it was in the 19th Century and the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has risen by 50%. 

Things that can affect climate change such as changes in the Earth's orbit, solar energy output, volcanic activity, the geographic distribution of the Earth's landmass, and other internal or external processes. Climate change itself is caused by Increasing concentrations of carbon dioxide and other gasses that cause greenhouse effects. However, since the 1800s, human activity has become a main cause of climate change, mainly due to the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas. Climate change greatly impacts human life because it can affect the quality and quantity of forests, changes in habitat and extinction of species, decrease agricultural productivity, decrease the quality and quantity of water, increase disease outbreaks, and also impact coastal ecosystems. 

Climatologists say rising temperatures must slow if we are to avoid the worst consequences of climate change. To tackle climate change, one of the things that we can do is implement sustainable construction that preserves the environment. Such as maintenance of construction that maintains the carrying capacity of the environment, utilizes resources efficiently, and minimizes environmental impact. For example, carrying out Sustainable Construction in the Infrastructure and Public Housing Sector. Where in construction development, sustainable construction must be created, namely buildings that are based on designs that pay attention to ecology, use natural resources efficiently and are environmentally friendly during the operational period of the building. Even though it sounds trivial, we can do this to reduce the possibility of climate change.

Students as Agents of Change, we are the next generation of the nation, we are also the ones who will eventually inherit this earth, the earth has provided us with many benefits, it is time for us to reciprocate, to love the earth. In the way previously described above. Keep in mind that small steps can be of great benefit if we focus and move together. Climate action requires significant financial investments by governments and businesses. But climate action is vastly more expensive.
