I've always been a fan of Japanese manga. I just love how the authors put in a lot of detail and emotion into the story. Another great thing about it is the variety of themes that are available for the audience. There are so many different themes to choose from. From love, children, adventure, sports, thrillers, horror, to even medicine. I usually go for the thriller and sports stories or sometimes the love ones. Until now my all time favourite mangas are Glass No Kamen and detective series such as Detective Conan, Detective Kindaichi and Dan Detective School. I've also been reading Bleach and Say Hello to Black Jack. All very interesting indeed. It was a few months ago when I was bored or more of actually waiting for the new chapters from my favourite titles to be uploaded that I started browsing Stoptazmo (which, is like manga download heaven) to find something new to read. After skimming and scanning, I curiously clicked "A Delicious Relationship." What caught my eye was the word Delicious. Yes, I am food obsessed, have been and always will be :D. The result after reading a few chapters? Simply mesmerized.
First of all, I just love how there is so much detail in describing gourmet cuisine. After reading I actually googled the terms mentioned in the manga and ended up browsing and gaining more knowledge of mouthwatering dishes from around the world. Honestly speaking, I started to actually have the guts to cook after reading this. I also learned that cooking comes from the heart. It is not about competition but simply making any kind of dish to brighten someone's day. If you think about it, isn't that actually one of our main jobs on this planet? :) Secondly, another good aspect about this manga is how the author balanced the cuisine and love theme. In fact, Oishii Kankei made cuisine and love as a whole unity instead of separate ideas. Overall, the tone of this manga is quite serious with an abundant knowledge of cuisine but also  filled with sweet humour and a heartwarming touch of life's lessons. All in all, like most mangas, this one is mainly about figuring about what you really want and need in life and whether or not you are willing to do what it takes to achieve your dreams. Here, that journey is told through cuisine. In the end, I guess we all define our dreams and successes. We can't generalise everything. Therefore, to all the the beings in God's grand universe, my best prayers for all of you. May you find and achieve what you have been passionate about all this time.
