Science and Logic: two wings to fly towards progress
Science and logic have always been two elements that have gone hand in hand on mankind's path to mastering the challenges of time. Science, as a collection of knowledge acquired through research and experience, needs logic as its main tool to maintain its accuracy. Logic, on the other hand, needs science to prove its relevance in the real world. They are the two wings that lift civilization to the pinnacle of progress, but often we forget to keep the balance between the two.
Science without logic is a building without a foundation. For example, technological progress is meaningless if it is developed without logical consideration of its implications. Imagine if artificial intelligence (AI) was developed just for the sake of prestige, without a logical analysis of the impact on the workforce or data security. Such innovations will be a double-edged sword that will do more harm than good.
On the contrary, logic without knowledge is only a path that serves no purpose. Logic that is not supported by scientific data only leads to empty speculation. For example, those who make decisions based on intuition or personal perception without relying on scientific data run the risk of making wrong decisions and harming many people involved. When logic is not guided by science, it loses its direction and tends to become a tool of manipulation rather than a solution.
Unfortunately, the balance between science and logic is often overlooked in the dynamics of modern life. We see people abusing science by manipulating data in the interest of certain interests, while on the other hand there are people who use logic to justify myths or hoaxes that are not based on facts. This phenomenon shows how important it is to strengthen the integration of science and logic in different aspects of life, from education to policy making.
To meet this challenge, we need to build a culture of thinking based on the harmony between science and logic. Education should not only teach what is right (science), but also how to think right (logic). In this way, future generations will not only become fact gatherers, but also intelligent and thoughtful problem solvers.
Science and logic are human gifts that, when used correctly, are capable of changing the world for the better. However, like the two wings of a bird that complement each other, they need to be used in a balanced way to enable us to soar higher. It is our responsibility to ensure that every step we take --- both in science and in logic --- is always aimed at benefiting humanity
