The internet has now become an integral element of life in the twenty-first century. Everything and everyone is becoming more and more connected to the internet. And those who do not do so are missing out on the contemporary age's strength. Is it possible that the sector of education will be far behind? Indeed not, as the arrival of E-learning has demonstrated! Learning is a complicated process in which a student's motivation, instructor, learning content, and a variety of other factors interact. Nowadays, traditional classroom instruction is increasingly being replaced by a virtual environment in which various learning challenges must be addressed. Learning has evolved considerably in recent decades as a result of the technological revolution, which has offered a variety of new options.
E-learning is a term that is used to refer to computer-based learning. It uses computer based training and teaching materials, online conferencing, discussion boards, e-mail, computer-aided assessment, and other related methods. Each student has his/her own account. Their student number would be the username for the account and their initial password will be given through the ITC (Information Technology Center). This Learning Management System has clearly become one of the most adopted learning frameworks for education. E-learning has become one of the innovations of learning and teaching for educational institution and it clearly defines a vast advantage of providing a newer form of learning environment for students and a great supplement for teachers. This will further enhance learning capability on a new better environment, providing student-enhanced learning method and for teachers with enhanced delivery and management for lessons.
In my experience I use elearning for LMS. I think it really helps me for the learning process because I can study anywhere. I improved my skills after all. Of course I also have a problem because I can't make a specific time to connect my time. which means I can do my homework when I work in the office. That's one of the challenges I faced that I still face today. But considering the benefits, I recommend this LMS in this pandemic era.
Here some of advantages of learning management systems:
* Makes Learning Super-easy
One of the main LMS benefits is that the training platforms are often utilized by multiple colleges and academics while not interfering with each other, almost like the
way a standard faculty operates. And also a lecturer is free to experiment by applying
completely different learning techniques like blended learning, social learning,
storytelling etc. Thereby makes learning as engaging and effective as possible.
* Provides unlimited access to eLearning materials
Once you transfer your eLearning course materials onto the LMS and publish them,
your audience has unlimited access to the information they have. Even those who are
on the go can login to the eLearning platform via their smartphones and tablets, so
they don't need to wait till their next online coaching session to develop skills and
excellent work-related tasks. This is often one amongst the most reasons why a LMS
is crucial for world audiences in several time zones.
* Consolidate all training information
There are vital benefits of having all your training info in a consolidated system. At a
look you can review and report on the status of company-wide coaching programs,
determine workers who have completed sure qualifications, and far more. Instead of
having to go looking through many disparate systems and paper files to seek out what
you wish, the proper LMS puts all coaching info at your fingertips.
* Reduces Learning costs
The vital benefits of a Learning Management System is, it saves money and time by
reducing the trainer travel cost, materials price and site accommodation price. LMS is
much cheaper to deliver than ancient face to face courses. And conjointly reduces the
material printing cost, as all the knowledge online learners require are offered in the
LMS.
* Integrates social learning experiences
A Learning Management System permits to integrate social learning into eLearning
strategy. that increases the standard of the course. As LMS is operated online it
permits the user to incorporate links to Twitter pages, Facebook, LinkedIn teams, and
online forums, which is able to be useful for learners. Online presence in social media
sites will attract new users and additionally will increase the recognition of the
organization.
Here some disadvantages of learning management system
* Traditionally, LMSs tend to be course-centric rather than student-centric. The
availability of tools can be used as dictated by the need to re-skill teachers. Now, an
LMS does not accommodate a complete range of teaching styles nor do they provide
tools for specialized pedagogical practices, e.g., audio discussion boards.
* Managing and administering an institution wide LMS requires a reasonably high level
of technical expertise that most classroom teachers do not possess. Therefore, those
who make the decisions as to what system is to be purchased and how it is
implemented are often removed from classroom so only have partial views of the
pedagogical implications of the final decisions made.
* Some teaching staff has poor computer and information literacy skills and little of the
information management skills needed to effectively use LMS to support their
teaching. These teachers must not only learn how to operate within these
environments but also develop an informed critical perspective of their use of the
LMS in teaching in a variety of modes.
* It is a challenge for many teachers to design and organize a mix of learning activities
that are appropriate to student needs, teacher skills and style, and institutional
technical capacity.
In my opinion, an effective learning management system is used for the subject of
administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, automation, and delivery of
educational courses, training programs, or learning and development programs.
However, you must create professionally structured course content. Teachers can add,
text, images, videos, pdf, tables, text links and formats, interactive tests, slideshows, etc.
In addition, they can create different types of users, such as teachers, students, parents,
visitors, and editors (hierarchies). This helps control which content students have access
to, tracks learning progress, and engages students with contact tools. Teachers can
manage courses and modules, enroll students or organize self-enrollment.
My expectations aren't outrageous: I don't expect teachers to be as knowledgeable about
technology as we are. I just asked for consistent quality---learning and teaching---using
the LMS (which they found easy to use) so that we were interested and engaged. It's time
to get teachers to reach levels of student engagement, to keep education growing more
creative and interactive over time. Teachers or other professionals are responsible for
directing students to use learning management systems, having a key role in influencing
students' perception and use.
Having an LMS takes team training to the next level, but Good e-Learning can take it
even further. The decision whether a Learning Management System will benefit any
organization is a complex one and this discussion is an attempt to clarify that decision.
By bringing much of the current literature together and illustrating these findings using a
specific implementation example, we illustrate the underlying factors that emerge when
determining whether an LMS might be advantageous in a particular learning
environment.
