Areflection of The Role of Individuals Build a Spirit of Nationalism Based on Ethical Values

I am one of the young Indonesians who live with full freedom because on the basis of living in a sovereign country. So, when talking about the spirit of nationalism, it indirectly reflects me on various historical literature during the colonialism period which was characterized by the youth because of the many forms of struggle he gave to this nation, be it physical, intellectual struggle in the form of ideas, diplomacy, social organization to politics.

Many noble values and morality of youth made changes to this nation and it was proven by the independence of Indonesia on August 17, 1945. The heroes have fought to the maximum to reclaim the nation, the money and energy they are willing to sacrifice in order to achieve glory, their thoughts and feelings are given for the sake of the fluttering of the red and white sangsaka as a sign of independence, this history that we must remember for a lifetime so as not to forget the motherland.

But we must also realize that behind the burning spirit of patriotism based on youth nationalism at that time, there was a force that believed them to get through it all, namely the PEOPLE. Because true success will be present if the strength of youth and people is united and without the support of the people, the youth will find it difficult to make progress that produces better change.

So if we talk about nationalism we are talking about the responsibility of all of us as Indonesian citizens. Because to carry out the dynamics of statehood, all parties are required to perform their respective roles. The dynamics will not escape the challenge, but believe me, no matter how big and complicated the challenge, there will be solutions that come thanks to the spirit of nationalism.

            Indonesia is a big country that is famous for its religious cultural and ethnic values, for that Indonesia needs a strong national togetherness as a basis for achieving progress and sustainability. The role of the individual is very important and meaningful in shaping and maintaining the spirit of nationalism on ethical values.

• Understanding Ethical Values
• A. Solidaritas
• Solidarity leads us to feel and care for a common destiny, solidarity itself encourages us to respect differences and support each other for the sake of common interests
• B. Justice
• To build a healthy nationalism, justice is an important foundation, especially in organization. Because in organizational life if justice does not exist, it can cause a decrease in commitment, and the occurrence of crime in the organization. Organizational justice has a positive influence on organizational commitment. Not only that, organizational justice also has a positive influence on performance in the organization.

            C. Tolerance

            Tolerance is an attitude of mutual respect between individuals and organizations.   With the value of tolerance we are able to appreciate and respect diversity, avoid discriminatory attitudes, and create a conducive environment, especially when we organize this attitude of tolerance can avoid discrimination, even though many organizations are different in one organization.

EXAMPLES OF ETHICS IN ORGANIZATION

• 1. Carry out tasks and do not run away from the responsibilities that have been given
•     The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has even reminded us, especially Muslims, of the impact and avoidance of responsibility. In the hadith, he said:
• "All of you are leaders and all leaders will be held accountable for those led. The priest (president, king) is the leader and is responsible for his people. The husband is the leader in his family and is responsible for it. The wife is the leader in his household and is responsible for that household. The maid is the leader of her master's property and is responsible for it. And you are all leaders and responsible for what they lead." (HR. Bukhari and Muslim).
• 2.Build work ethic and improve organizational performance
•             Work ethic is one of the things that has a big influence on the success of an organization. Members of the organization who have a good work ethic can complete work in a timely manner. It sounds trivial, but this can show that members who have a good work ethic are someone who is disciplined and responsible in the work entrusted. How to improve work ethic can be started from yourself by looking for motivation that you can make as a spirit.
• 3. Help Each Other Between Organization Members
•             Mutual help is an attitude that must be done in organization. Allah Almighty, says:
• "And please help you in goodness and piety and do not help in committing sins and transgressions. And be fearful of Allah, verily Allah is very heavy in His torment". (Q.S. Al-Ma'idah 5:2).
• Helping can help and make our lives feel peaceful and peaceful because there are no enemies in our lives.

            Soo the conclusion of "a reflection of the role of the individual to build the spirit of Nationalism based on ethical values" is a common task of the whole society. In this case, the role of the individual is very important. Through an understanding of ethical values, awareness of national identity, active participation in society or organizational members, and a wise attitude towards challenges, each individual can become an agent of positive change in strengthening the spirit of unity and unity of the nation. Thus, Indonesia can move forward as a strong and harmonious country.
