Surakarta Through Photo Essay - A Photojournalism Way of Learning

Last February, my friends and I did the Comm Goes to Surakarta trip. On the third day, we traveled to several places, two of which were the Danar Hadi Batik Museum and Solopos. The place has a panoramic view of a beautiful place and a deep history. In the following, I will discuss one by one.

Batik, a noble culture passed down through generations, has a rich history and is a popular destination in Solo. The Danar Hadi Batik Museum, located at 261 Jalan Slamet Riyadi, showcases Santosa Doellah's collection of nine distinct categories of Batik, including Dutch, Chinese, Djawa Hokokai, Indian Influenced, Kraton, Merchant and Farmer, Indonesian, and Danar Hadi Batik. The museum preserves the Batik by preserving humidity and temperature, using the Slim Flower component to maintain its high quality over time.

The Solopos office in Surakarta, Central Java, is a prime example of how companies prioritize employee productivity. The digital age has shifted communication norms, and traditional forms of media like Solopos are facing challenges and opportunities for growth. Surakarta is home to the morning newspaper Solopos, which was first published in 1997. Solopos also operates a paper factory that produces printing paper, packaging materials, tissues, and specialty papers.

CONCLUSIONS:

A photo essay is a visual storytelling technique that uses photos to convey a story or message. It can chronicle history, investigate a topic, or record a culture. The process involves selecting the best images, captions, and a suitable layout. A photo essay can be as short as a few images or as long as a book. To create a compelling and exciting photo essay, consider a specific subject, plan your shots, and consider angles, lighting, and composition.
