For those who do not know, Indonesia is the 6th least on the world’s education system rank. It proves how bad Indonesia’s education system is. This embarrassing fact is indeed a lesson for the government to improve more on education system especially The Ministry of Education and Culture. There are several lacks of this education system which are bad-quality teacher, an ancient education system and less improvement on education institution. Indonesian teacher competencies are under average while in order to build intelligent students, well-educated teachers are needed. It is the most important factor on improving this education system.
Indonesia also adapts an ancient education system where teachers are the only sources available, while on this era of 4.0, teachers act as a companion, supporter, and facilitator. It does mean in order for the latest 4.0 education system to work well, students must be trained to be more active. This country still adapts feudalistic educational system which never change from past to present.

This system respects less on thinking and arguing independence. The school act as a ‘factory’ to produce the similar academic skills every student must have. This system will make students act as robots to follow which way determined by the school, not the way they want, whereas every student has different characters and skills which will lead to useless skill if the system still act the same and won’t let them to create their creativity differently as they have different skills and talents.

Indonesia’s education system needs more improvements in order to produce qualified teachers in the future. Lets take an example on Teacher Training and Education Institute. The institute which its teaching model is bad makes teachers have less creativity and explorations with his/her academic skills which proves the low score on Teacher’s Competency Test annually.
This country needs to learn from its neighbors who have better educational system. Lets take a look on Singapore where teachers are highly respected and appreciated, and qualifications to be a teacher are not easy. So if ones are not qualified, then he/she can not be a teacher.
