News programs nowadays are full with many controversial issues, for example the news about certification of prostitution in Jakarta. Have you ever heard about it? This idea came from the governor of DKI Jakarta, Basuki Tjahya Purnama. It attracted all citizens in Indonesia, especially for people who have a high dedication in their religion. They wondered about how come Ahok had this antrocious idea in his mind. Many people thought that Ahok was insane, because this idea could lead to the situation when people will never respect the morality, and tend to consider that the prostitution is a common thing.
Actually, this idea was thought by Ahok because he wants to protect and order the people who involved in prostitute. Ironically, from this controversial regulation he wants to diminish the evolving of prostitution these days which practices are hidden. He wants to make a legal localization of prostitution in terms of making this phenomenon could be controlled easily. It is to control the women protection, the possible illegal drugs currency in it, and what kind of people who are allowed to come to localization.
It is a brilliant idea to consider the important of women protection in prostitution, because it has less safeguarding from government in many aspects, for example their health condition from any sexual diseases. Furthermore, the drugs currency could be well monitored and would be prohibited to burgeon through the localization. The last is, goverment could make sure that the women and the comers which involved in prostitution are not under 18.
We know that Ahok’s decision is for the better life of the prostitution system in Jakarta, but however, I still could not agree of this because of some reasons. Here are the facts why prostitution should not be certificated. Three reasons which interfere many people are, prostitution is a criminal act, prostitution could destroy a morality of human beings, and could gives a big impact to the number of broken home in family institution.
The first reason, prostitution is a criminal because this act is against the rule. Things related to prostitution were had been prohibited in the law administration, for example in UU No. 21 2007 states about the illegal human trafficking including prostitution, and also UU No. 23 2002 claims that government will judge them who let the children and teenager involved in prostitution. If we are think to be on the Ahok’s side to support this idea, means that we are also support him to against the rule, and definitely it is not wise for the prominent figure like him to do that .
The other point is, prostitution might be destroy a morality of human beings, especially for a women. We as an Eastern people must be highly respect for morality and live with the Eastern values and customs. We could not ever leave this habbit and careless about moral values, because our national ideology says so. Then we can not say that this criminal act is a common thing.
The last reason why this prostitution certification plan should be cancelled, because it gives an impact for a number of broken home phenomenon in Indonesia. We know that a married couple sometimes may have a conflict because most of husbands, sleep with prostitutes. Moreover, in this case a husband might possibly bring any a disease to his family which could harm them.
In conclusion, we need to contemplate and convince ourselves which we are belong to. We want to protect the people who are involved in prostitution  and against the national rules, or we prefer to take better care of the people which were not involved yet. To take better care of our generations, prevent us from the criminal act which could harm ourselves and destroy our morality.
