As we know, Indonesia is an archipelagic country that has more than hundreds of interesting tourist attractions. Not only attractive in the eyes of residents, but Indonesian tourist attractions also attract the attention of foreign people. One example is Bali, the island of Bali is clearly very familiar to foreign tourists because it was placed number 1 in Top Places in Forbes the Top 50 Places in The World back in 2019. Tourists really like the beaches in Bali, because the waves are quite large for surfing and the clear sunlight which is very supportive for skin tanning. Apart from its beaches, Bali is also famous for its culture which is still very thick.

Obviously, Bali is not the only extraordinary place that Indonesia has to offer. There are hundreds more for people from all over the world to explore and those who love to travel should try. Apart from its beauty, the price of tourist attractions offered is also quite cheap, so that tourists who visit do not have to worry about big expenses to visit. Most Indonesian tourist attractions introduce culture, visitors who come will also be explained about the culture contained in these tourist attractions.

Here some Indonesian Tourist Attractions that are popular:

  • Borobudur

Borobudur Temple is a tourist attraction in Indonesia, located 40 kilometres (25 miles) northwest of Yogyakarta province on the island of Java. Borobudur is the world's biggest Buddhist temple, and it has risen to the top of the list of Indonesia's most visited temples. The kingdom of Sailendra built the Borobudur over a period of 75 years in the 8th and 9th century, using around 2 million blocks of stone. Borobudur is an Indonesian UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was abandoned in the 14th century for reasons that have remained hidden in the jungle beneath layers of volcanic ash for centuries. It is becoming one of Indonesia's most popular tourist spots.

  • Komodo National Park

The Lesser Sunda Islands' Komodo National Park encompasses the three bigger islands of Komodo, Padar, and Rincah, as well as 26 smaller islands. The park is named after the Komodo Dragon, the world's largest living lizard, which can grow to be 3 meters long and weigh more than 70 kilograms. Although Komodo dragons eat largely dead creatures' carcasses, they are capable predators who will hunt birds and mammals as well. Human attacks are quite infrequent.

  • Tana Toraja

The Toraja people live in Tana Toraja, a highland region of South Sulawesi. Torajans are noted for their huge Tongkonan (peaked-roof dwellings) and impressive yet terrible death customs. The body of a deceased individual is maintained -- typically for several years -- until the funeral ritual, which might span several days. Finally, the corpse is buried in a small cave or a hollow tree.

  • Raja Ampat

The Raja Ampat Islands are unquestionably one of Indonesia's most popular tourist destinations, not just for divers but also for nature enthusiasts and vacationers. This diver's paradise is noted for its abundance of marine life, clean reefs, and corals that would impress even the most experienced diver. It is a part of the world's Coral Triangle, which is noted for harboring over 3000 species of fish and other unique ecosystems that help to breed the biodiversity of its marine life. Raja Ampat is also a remote location that has been undisturbed by development, with only independent visitors and nature enthusiasts making their way here.

  • Baliem Valley

Baliem Valley, in Western New Guinea's highlands, offers a glimpse into a world that was only recently a stone-age world. Until 1938, when an aircraft reconnaissance trip southwards from Jayapura uncovered a sizable agricultural population, this valley remained unknown to the outside world. The best event to attend is their culture festival, which is known as the Baliem Valley Festival and is considered one of the top Indonesia festivals. Many travelers flock to Wamena these days to marvel at the mountain landscapes, roaring rivers, tribal communities, and the uncomfortable but lovely character of the kind Dani people.

It's no wonder that tourist attractions are one aspect of the creative economy, because the natives of the area and their collaboration partners offer natural resources that we might not have thought of as jobs. Traveling aims to release fatigue, release all the frantic thoughts that are carried away from the office, school or anywhere. Due to the current pandemic, quite a few tourist attractions are closed due to government policies, but some are still open. Overseas flights are also limited, so tourists still can't visit many tourist spots.

As a good society, we should listen to the policy, especially to prevent transmission. In other words, as a writer, I do not recommend traveling even though the government has issued a policy to travel out of town or abroad. But clearly, readers already want to go on vacation, miss the atmosphere of Bali or their favorite areas right. Keep in mind to always comply with health protocols, keep clean and keep your distance is a must.

Happy holidays, and good health always!
