If I Was President of a Country, What Would I Do To Solve Covid-19?

As we all know, there is a contagious pandemic disease spreading all over the world. This virus came from a wet market where they sell not only seafood, but wildlife to be eaten. The location is in Wuhan, China. The virus is estimated came from bat which is contaminated with this virus. The virus are known to jump from animals to humans, so it's thought that the first people infected with the disease contracted it from contact with animals. The last few months, coronavirus has reached Indonesia and have killed over 100 patients. The number of patients kept increasing day by day. This continues until the government demanded Indonesians to do physical distancing and to not going to crowded places if it's not really important or urgent. 

Government should have take responsibility to their patients. But instead, the government could not deal with this problem. A while ago, Indonesia has been claimed to have coronavirus patients, but they are unrevealed. Harvard University researchers reported that Indonesia have some patients with coronavirus. But Indonesian authorities reacted in a negative way toward the report, they call it insulting and even questioned Harvard University's credentials. Furthermore, the health minister of Indonesia even give the researcher and the professor of Harvard fierce criticism and denial. Instead of raising awareness of coronavirus, they don't take it seriously. They even told the citizens to not wearing a mask while going out. The inadequate education of our country is unacceptable, they even compared coronavirus with a regular flu. The symptoms is mostly alike, but still, there are differences. 

Learning from our country's mistake, I should take this pandemic seriously if I was the president of Indonesia. My priority is my citizens, so I should take my actions wisely to prevent more spreading of the virus. Indonesia has minimal education of this virus, so the first step I would do is to educate my citizens by the social media from the beginning of the pandemic. Other than that, President of Indonesia has a cabinet consists of 34 ministers. The ministers are grouped into several coordinating ministers, one of them is the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture. 

They are the one that can help me to educate my citizens. For the example, the Ministry of Education and Culture as known as Kemdikbud, I will arrange a meeting with the minister to talk about how to educate the students in Indonesia about this pandemic directly. Because as we know, students nowadays can learn more information and they can share their knowledge to their family, so that it is more effective and faster to educate the citizens. 

The next step, I would push the speed of rapid tests that are happening right now. The test will also be followed by everyone so that not only people that has contacted with the patients can do the test, but even people without symptoms can do it. This is to maintain the true statistics and also to stop the virus spreading to people with no symptoms. 

Third, there would be temperature tests, disinfection gel or hand sanitizer in everywhere, mostly public areas. People with high temperatures will be sent to the nearest clinic or hospital to be tested further. If the result is positive, they will be isolated in a place to stop the spread of this virus to other people including their family members. Finally, people who selling medical masks also hand sanitizer with the insanely high price will be firmly intended by the government. The masks and hand sanitizer will be confiscated and returned to the factory for sale at the normal price.
