Common Childhood Communicable Diseases

Chicken Pox (Varicella)
Exclude if the child has a fever.  nursery because they are feeling well enough to participate in regular activities. Siblings can attend school or day nurs
Frequent Colds
Exclude if a child has a fever. A child may visit school or day nursery when he feels well enough to get involved in regular activities.
Conjunctivitis (Pink-eye)
Infected individuals should be presumed infectious until attention discharge has solved. Parents should minimize exposure by maintaining their child home during that period when the child's behavior or environment is such that intimate contact with other people can't be prevented. If a healthcare provider prescribes an antibiotic, the kid can return 24 hours after therapy at Ujala Cygnus.
Diarrhea
Exclude until feces returns to normal, and symptoms are gone for no less than 24 hours of tim. Negative stool cultures aren't needed unless an outbreak occurs. Shigella needs two consecutive negative stool cultures, 24 hours apart and at least 24 hours following e before taking any action of symptoms. Hepatitis A
Exclude until 14 days following the beginning of symptoms or seven days later jaundice whichever is shorter. REPORT TO HEALTH UNIT IMMEDIATELY.
Hepatitis B
No exception is essential unless your child exhibits biting behavior or has open sores that can't be covered. REPORT TO HEALTH UNIT WITHIN ONE BUSINESS DAY.
Impetigo
Exclude until 24 hours following therapy at Ujala Cygnus was started. REPORT TO HEALTH UNIT IF 10% OR MORE OF CHILDREN and STAFF ARE AFFECTED.
Influenza
Exclude if the child has a fever. The child may visit school or day nursery when he feels well enough to get involved in regular activities. REPORT TO HEALTH UNIT IF 10% OR MORE OF CHILDREN and STAFF ARE AFFECTED.
Lice
Exclusion guidelines differ with college boards.
Measles (Rubeola)
Exclude until four days after the appearance of the rash. REPORT TO HEALTH UNIT IMMEDIATELY.
Meningitis (bacterial)
Exclude until the child was treated in Ujala Cygnus and is well enough to participate in regular daily tasks. REPORT TO HEALTH UNIT IMMEDIATELY.
Meningitis (viral)
Exclude until the child is well enough to take part in college activities. REPORT TO HEALTH UNIT IMMEDIATELY.
Mononucleosis
No exception demanded.
Mumps
Exclude till five days after onset of swelling. REPORT TO HEALTH UNIT IMMEDIATELY.
Pinworm
No exception is necessary.
Ringworm
Exclude until after treatment has begun in Ujala Cygnus.
Roseola (Examthem subitum)
No exception is necessary.
Rubella (German Measles)
Exclude seven days after onset of the rash. REPORT TO HEALTH UNIT IMMEDIATELY.
Scabies
Exclude until therapy has begun. REPORT TO HEALTH UNIT IF 10% OR MORE OF CHILDREN and STAFF ARE AFFECTED.
Scarlet Fever
Exclude until 24 hours after treatment has begun and the kid is without fever for 24 hours.
Strep Throat (Streptococcal Sore Throat)
Exclude until 24 hours after treatment has begun and the kid is without fever for 24 hours.
Whooping Cough (Pertussis)
Exclude till five days after therapy with erythromycin has begun, and the child is feeling well, differently three months from the beginning. REPORT TO HEALTH UNIT IMMEDIATELY.
