Acts of violence that occur in the school environment are highly troubling. Education and teaching are not synonymous with violence, both in the past and especially now. However, violence is often associated with discipline and its application in education.
Discipline is often a measure of the quality of education in a formal educational institution such as a school. Therefore, teachers must work hard to make rules and discipline their students at school. As well as providing harsh and strict sanctions for students who violate school rules, such as truancy, smoking in the classroom, being tardy, etc.
However, there are still students who violate the rules, so it is not uncommon for teachers to commit acts of violence to discipline their students. Taking physical or psychological punishment against students in schools under the pretext of disciplining them is violence against students.
PROBLEM SOLUTION
Schools should implement nonviolent education
Continuously equip teachers to broaden their knowledge, opportunities, and new experiences to develop their creativity.
Not only students need counseling, but also teachers. Teachers also experience difficult times that require support, reinforcement, or guidance to help find the best solution
CONCLUSION
Teachers who commit violent acts against students in schools are legally committing crimes. Cases of violence such as beatings, insults, sexual harassment by unscrupulous teachers against students, are legally contrary to the regulations in force in Indonesia.
To prevent teacher violence against students, schools foster and train teachers in effective teaching methods. The training referred to is upgrading so that teachers can carry out the teaching process professionally so that the aims and objectives of education can be achieved properly.
