CODE-SWITCHING FOR TEACHERS OR LECTURERS WHEN INTERACTING/EXPLAINING TO STUDENTS IN CLASS IN IMPROVING STUDENTS' UNDERSTANDING OF LEARNING.

In daily conversations of course we use our mother tongue language such as telling something to the people around us. Usually we use language that is quite formal but sometimes we will use our mother tongue in conveying messages or communicating with people.
In this case, we will discuss the language switch or code switch used by the teacher to the students or vice versa while in the classroom. Usually this also happens to students when they present or when interacting with the teacher during class, this happens perhaps to refer to what is being discussed to make it clearer.
Most teachers/lecturers when teaching in the classroom always use very standard or formal language and sometimes they will switch to language that is easily understood by students such as mother tongue or daily language that can help students understand.
Code switching is a language that we use in conversation or say something by changing the language we use or formal language to a more specific language depending on the context being discussed. In learning starting from elementary, junior high, high school and even college in various subjects, this language switching code is always used to give students the ability to learn.
The use of code switching In this case the use of code switching is very necessary in classroom learning such as.
1. Makes students active
In learning will be more active when we as a teacher to explain a teaching material by inviting them to talk about the topic of learning. Not only based on teaching materials but we interact with students to better understand such as giving examples using the daily language they use that will make them respond back and make students active in the classroom.
