A comfortable study room is really needed by students at this time. the lack of a comfortable study room makes students tend to choose a place to eat or a cafe to study. of course this is very uncomfortable for students who study and also for other visitors. fortunately the uhamka English education department provides a comfortable, sophisticated and fun learning space, namely the SALC (Self-Access Learning Center).
SALC, which stands for Self-access in Learning Center, a lot of facilitates students with a modern and comfortable learning environment. There are three main rooms In SALC, namely the reading room, the presentation room, and the multimedia room. Having more than 1,000 book collections, the reading room supplies students with various reading resources that will increase not only students' knowledge but also their reading interest. Meanwhile, the presentation room gives Students all the opportunities they need to. practice and improve their speaking skills, especially their public speaking skills. Finally, the multimedia room enhances students! language competence and performance, particularly by providing multimedia resources.
According to one Uhamka English student, SALC really helps students to study in peace and comfort. "I come to SALC quite often because there are books that I can borrow, and it's very comfortable to study there especially when there are not enough visitors." said zee one of the visitors and Uhamka English students.
SALC can also be a study room with lecturers, with a comfortable study room, students will be more interested and excited to study there. According to the assistant who looks after the SALC room on weekdays, many students come to study at the SALC, sometimes they also just want to relax in the SALC room. "English students who come must fill out the list the day before and of course must maintain cleanliness". said the teaching assistant who also helped maintain the SALC.
SALC is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm, and Saturday from 9am to 12pm. It is hoped that the ease and comfort of the SALC room facilities will help students to have a comfortable and pleasant study space.
