Hassan Hanafi is a professor and chairs the philosophy department at Cairo University. He is a leading authority on modern Islam. Hanafi was born into an artistic family in Cairo. As a youth he studied the violin, which he continues to play to this day.
In the first agenda Hasan Hanafi has published a monumental work entitled Min al Aqidah ila ats-tsawrah. The book has been translated by paramadina with the title From Aqeedah Towards the Revolution. Whereas the second agenda makes Occidentalism a totally new scientific discipline in Islamic thought. He mentioned the study as a critique of the portrayal and formation of western consciousness structures
Mohammed Abed Al Jabri was a Moroccan critic and professor of philosophy and Islamic thought in Mohammed V University in Rabat. He was also an expert in Arabic and Arabic literature. He is considered to have been one of the major intellectual figures in the contemporary Arab world
He proposed a methodology of reason thinking classified into 3 parts:
1. Bayani
 Etymologically, Bayani means explanation, determination and statement. While terminologically interpreted as a mindset derived from texts, ijma 'and ijtihad.
2. Irfani
 In Irfani language means to know. This word is often used in Sufism discourse as a term to indicate a form of intuitive knowledge based on direct disclosure.
3. Burhani
 In epistemology Burhani's reasoning rests on natural or reality and empirical abilities. Social nature and humanities in the sense of science are obtained from the results of experiments and research.
