Meaning Behing The Symbol of Semicolon (;)

The semicolon symbol has been around for a long time and has existed among the general public.  Many people use this semicolon sign as a tattoo and install it as a profile photo.  Semicolon (;) is a punctuation mark that is often used in writing which is used as a separator for connecting words in similar sentences.  But behind it all in fact a semicolon has a very close meaning to a person's mental health.  

Amy Bluel was the initiator of the expansion of the meaning of the semicolon on the mental health she experienced as a result of her father's death due to suicide.  The severe depression she experienced, made Amy realize that she needed to get out of the mental health disorder she was experiencing.  As a result, in 2013, Amy created a semicolon project aimed at providing motivation and support for those who are struggling with mental health problems.  For some people it's just a punctuation mark or just to follow trends but for those who have experienced an issue it may be a very important thing.  However, it is unfortunate that there is still a lack of education and information to the public about this semicolon sign as a representation of mental health.
