A day with Suri Ikun

Wednesday, June 12, 2019, in the framework of the Drama final semester examination (UAS), fourth semester English language education students at the University of Nusa Cendana made drama videos that have cultural themes.

Members of class B in semester IV, English Language Education, University of Nusa Cendana said that they were very happy because in the semester final test of the Drama Course, they were asked to make a cultural video that had a culture.

"We were very pleased when asked to make a drama with a cultural theme because, in addition to training good cooperation between class members, the purpose of this drama was also to preserve cultures, especially folklore in NTT," said Frenky Beily, a class member.

The drama was played by 38 actors consisting of men and women with the division of the roles of one man as the main actor (Suri Ikun), two people acting as fathers and mothers, thirteen cast consisting of men and women playing a role like children and courtiers and some other cast who act as additional cast, such as ghosts and neighbors.

To beautify and make the video seem natural, the process of recording videos is done in several natural places, namely, forests, rice fields, and beaches.

Although the drama making process was time-consuming and exhausting, the cast, students of English Language Education, semester IV at Nusa Cendana University, said they were very happy because the drama videos produced were very good and more importantly they could present videos with cultural themes to watch by a wide community.
