Choosing to study at this school, like climbing a mountain, is exciting but full of obstacles. The ultimate goal of mountain climbing is not to reach the highest peak, but to overcome every obstacle to get to the top and return home with your family. Each new lesson and experience is like a challenging but meaningful hiking trail. Sometimes walking on a gentle path, sometimes on a steep path. Sometimes I laughed, sometimes I cried, sometimes I even thought about turning back before I reached the finish line.
I know enough Indonesian, Batak and English. I learnt English to prepare myself for global challenges, as if I were preparing a strategy for a smooth and effective climb through physical training and supply management. My downtime was spent reading, playing guitar, exercising or keeping track of social media.Â
Like a hiker who enjoys a beautiful view before continuing their journey, these help me manage my energy and re-energise. I hope to complete my theological studies from this school, like reaching the top of a mountain, and become a competent researcher in ministry together with my family in the next five to seven years. All the while, I pray that God will help and enable me to be His faithful servant.
Every small step, like mountain climbing, is part of the journey towards the final destination. Every difficulty I face today is a small part of God's way of leading me to fulfil His calling. One of the many challenges that I have to face in order to reach the final destination is parting with my beloved family, in fulfilling God's calling.Â
Like climbing a mountain, it requires perseverance and also moving forward, to fulfil God's calling by studying in this school I must persevere in obedience and faithfulness. Thank you for your attention, and may we all reach the peaks we dream of with determination and help from God.
