Sadness allows for connection, when we see someone else feeling sad, we might feel sad too (this emotion is called empathy) and might want to alleviate their sadness (this is compassion). When we stay with this individual and share our emotions together, the resonating effect can produce a healing experience.

In conclusion, Inside Out movie is a great example of how literary work can uplift crucial issues to teach children in managing their social-emotional development skill. This movie brings these issues to educate us that emotional development skill is important for us, especially children and adolescent. Social-emotional development skill is represented by the headquarters of the main character, Riley.

They are representing human emotions that work beyond our mind. The narrative of how they solve Riley’s problem helps children to acknowledge their emotion and help them in problem solving act. Moreover, the main character Riley represents a character who deals with transitional phase or adolescence issues. Riley helps children who deal with transitional phase to embrace their emotions and be opened to their closest eventually. That’s why this movie is a worth watching movie for children and their emotional development.
