I was sitting near a warehouse of my school and found many assignment papers there. Suddenly I think how so easy teachers give the students a task once task in one or two weeks like making paper, essay, paper plan, then give the score, and finally throw away the assignments to the warehouse. This moment happened not only once but it happened in the whole learning-process. If this moment always happens, I think the students will do that by the easiest strategy, namely “Plagiarism”. They will do plagiarism because it’s easy to copy and paste, there is no willingness to do the boring task, and many people are more respectful to the result of the writing text no to the process.
Since Larry Tesler found “Copy Paste” concept, many people do plagiarism because it’s easier to copy and paste than we make by ourselves. Actually, he made this concept to ease human being. But unfortunately, many people use this concept as their way to plagiarize everything and do nothing for their writing. I think nowadays writers must lock their writing so many people cannot copy and paste as they want.
Nowadays with the above concept many students become lazy. There is no willingness to do the writing or feeling lazy to do the task. They are lazy to do the writing because they think writing is a boring thing that they did in several times. They only will be diligent in a task that they think interesting. Such as; gaming, playing, etc. Consequently, this moment make many people or students lazy to do the writing and decided to do plagiarism.
Plagiarism is also increasingly prevalent because many people are more respectful of the end result of a writing text compared to the process of writing it. For example, in my school some of teachers maybe only care on the end result of our writing task, the teachers don’t care how the students get or do the writing task. This moment happen not only in school but also until the students in university. Some lectures sometimes only care to the end result of the writing task not to the process. It is why many people do plagiarism.
Those are some reasons why people do plagiarism. It’s easy to copy and paste, there is no willingness to do the boring task, and the many people more respect to the result of the writing text no to the process. Actually, Plagiarism is a bad thing that is difficult to eradicate because it has become a habit for a long time, but it does not rule out the possibility that we can still minimize this happening.
We can start by trying to love writing, whatever the writing. Especially writing which is required as a task at school or campus, after trying to write it by our creativity, try to consult with your teachers or lecturers about your writing, after you get corrections from your writing, and try to improve it again. I don't think the results of your writing will be a bad thing to show in public. We can make this effort to reduce our intention to do plagiarism.
