The corona virus or Covid-19 began to run rampant since last March, making people around the world have to quarantine at home and not travel frequently. If you want to go somewhere, you are now obliged to wear a mask, bring a hand sanitizer, and also in every public place your body temperature must be measured.
Now until December, there is no cure for this virus. However, a team of scientists in Belgium and America hopes that one animal will get a medicine so that this pandemic will end quickly.
The animal is none other than the Llama. Llamas are thin-haired animals that are native to South America. Researchers found that the Llama has a type of antibody that could be used as a vaccine against the coronavirus.
The antibodies from the Llama bind to a much smaller and more stable entity. Researchers in Belgium discovered the Llama antibody as a vaccine on January 20 and until now they are working hard to create a truly effective drug for humans.Â
These findings then become hope for the community. But some people can't wait enough for the perfect vaccine so they go to the Llama farm to draw blood and drink it. This is of course rejected outright because antibodies from Llama do not work that way.
Now the thing that worries the researchers is that they don't have enough time to make the perfect vaccine before an explosion of positive victims occurs because the lockdowns have begun to be loosened.
Let's hope that the vaccine will be successful and effective so that all of us are free from this pandemic and can return to activities as before. And as for the cute Llamas, hope that no one hurts the animals just to get antibodies.Â
Any animal can be useful for human life. As funny or as creepy as they are, they certainly have benefits for all of us, therefore humans should appreciate and love even the smallest animals because anything can happen. We never know about the future, so before we regret it, we should do things that can be done before the one that is worried about happens.
