The Most Enjoyable Tradition

2023's Tirakatan tradition in Karanggeneng is the most enjoyable tradition I have experienced during my time there. The Tirakatan were held the day before the Independence Day, specifically at August 16, 2023. The atmosphere during the 2023 Tirakatan in Karanggeneng was truly remarkable. The entire village came alive with excitement. It felt like a giant family reunion, with neighbors, friends, and even visitors (boarding house occupant) all gathering together to celebrate. 

One of the most enjoyable aspects of the Tirakatan was the variety of activities and performances. The most important things that make it's different from the other year is I can met my neighbor after a very long time not seeing each other. The day was filled with performance of each dawis in the village that showcased the rich heritage of Indonesia. However, the 2023 Tirakatan in Karanggeneng was truly an unforgettable experience. It's no wonder that I found it to be the most enjoyable tradition during my time in Karanggeneng.
