Travis Scott and Drake Sued Over Deadly Voncert

Amid reports of drug spiking and chaotic security, Houston police are investigating the stampede at the rap concert that killed 8 people and injured many more. Rappers Travis Scott and Drake are being sued following the Astroworld Festival tragedy for "inciting mayhem." Jacques Bermon Webster II is Travis Scott's true name; he is an American rapper and record producer.

Travis collaborated with Drake made a concert in Houston on November 5, 2021. The concert were being watched over 50,000 people were in the audience at Houston's NRG Park Friday night that caused a chaotic crowd when Travis is performing his song. Many people injured when situation went out of control, many victims on that tragedy were 14, 16, 21, 21, 23, 23 and 27. According to Fox news, the causes of the deaths were not immediately known following what has been referred to as a "mass casualty incident."

According to Houston Police Department, they are starting investigating through video taken by concert promoter Live Nation, clips from people who attended the event. Also, they will take a look at the event's security plan and permits issued to the organizers to determine if they took proper steps. In addition, they also interview Travis, because his action that continuing his perform after noticed someone passed down, even the crowd chanting "stop the show! Stop the show!" and one woman even going up to a concert worker to try to stop the show.

According to the Post, the event organizers created an operational plan in consultation with the Houston police and fire departments. The venue staff at NRG Park said that the executive producer and the festival director had authority to stop the show, but the report did not specify who held those roles.

"The documents showed that seven people identified as being in the event's "management structure," but a job title was stated for only a safety and risk director. A separate part of the document that was supposed to specify individuals who could shut down the power and end the show to allow for an evacuation was left blank," the Post said.

It can be seen that the staff failed to control the crowd that caused chaos. In addition, it was unclear if the document was the final version of the event operation plan.
