Currently, almost the majority of countries in the world have adopted an economic system that upholds high economic growth. Â Almost all sectors are required to produce high productivity and capital with sometimes inadequate wages. This system is known as the capitalist system. Before discussing the problems of the capitalist economic system, we need to know first what the definition of capitalist economy is? And what about the game system. Let's just explain it first below.
Before understanding what is a Capitalist Economy, it is necessary to first know what is the basis of the definition of Economy? Economics in many literatures is a discipline that studies human activities in meeting the needs of life and the desire to consume a product, but the problem is the infinite human desire and needs that are hit by limited resources (scarcity). Departing from the above understanding, people think how to always increase these resources so that their desires are achieved one by one, gradually the term that then develops into capitalist economy is understood by most people is an economy that supports the widest possible freedom, it is not wrong for people to understand capitalism as such because basically capitalism supports the existence of market freedom in an economy in a region.
More broadly than the capitalist system, it is a system in the economy that is dominated by private individual property rights with the aim of achieving the maximum possible profit.  This capitalism is the fruit of the thought of an earlier scientist who was famous by the name of Adam Smith. Adam Smith indoctrinated people in his time and later with the thoughts outlined in a book entitled The Wealth Of Nation in which there are pillars of the capitalist system with the concept  of "laissez Faire" which means that the government does not need to interfere in people's business activities. The view of the Laissez Faire people towards the state is that it should not intervene at all in stabilizing the economy. They are based on the market system and capital capital, known as the capitalists (capital owners) and the workers (workers) who give birth to classes.
Basically, the economic system brought by the western world, including capitalism, basically separates religion from the world. Capitalism is still part of secularism which views religion as only the relationship between man and God (if in Islam it is called habluminallah). While the relationship between humans and humans or in Islam is called habluminanas is anthropocentric, meaning that humans are circulated as the center of the joints of life. In secularism and capitalism, people are free to make their own choices that they think are best and right according to them. Going back to the original topic of the existing capitalist system, in fact this system is just like other economic systems are not perfect, the only one who is perfect is God. The imperfection of the capitalist economic system can be seen from the regions that adopt this system in full without mixing other systems, it can be seen that when there are regions that apply this, there is instability that occurs, it is easy for the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer. If described, the rich will be more free to look for as much wealth as possible without looking down and the poor will be more squeezed because of the fierce competition. In countries or regions that fully implement this system, people are free to express themselves in seeking the economy and provide as much space for competition as possible regardless of the oppressed. It is often found from some cases that people sleeping on the side of the road in a city in developed countries are increasing, because in addition to providing the freest space in looking for state treasures, they do not interfere in providing safety net cushions for the oppressed.
For the adherents of capitalist society in both the western and eastern worlds, claiming the capitalist economic system is already considered a perfect system. They see only from the side of property, property, treasure without looking at the moral and humanitarian side. The reality is that there are still real cases that result in the perception of some people not trusting this system one hundred percent.
Anymore. Like the case of the 1929 global crisis. The crisis began with the stuckness in housing loan payments (a type of mortgage) in the United States because many homeowners could not pay credit installments (arrears). Then it expanded to cause several financial companies to experience bankruptcy. This situation was exacerbated by substandard workers' wages until the agricultural sector was inflamed by the effects of the drought that occurred at that time. Departing from that, initially capitalist fanatics still believed that without the help of the state and the government the crisis would subside, in fact, on the contrary, the crisis spread and market freedom failed to be created, marking the beginning of a series of criticisms of the capitalist system that was previously revered by its adherents.
This criticism of the capitalist system was actually made long before The Great Depresion occurred. The sharp criticism known to history is the criticism made by Karl Marx with some of his cronies which later emerged the socialist-communist economic system. Although in the end this system collapsed at the end of the 20th century.
Capitalism, which continues to transform in accordance with the development of the times, gave birth to modern capitalism. In capitalism, which is synonymous with the overuse of resources sourced from nature, resulting in the current increasingly massive exploitation of natural resources, which results in the current slowly but surely climate change is increasingly characterized by the alternation  of el-nino and la-nina  phenomena that occur in regions such as Africa, Southeast Asia and South America. When these two phenomena occur, there are many negative impacts that follow, such as crop failures to natural disasters that have an effect on weakening the community's economy. As experienced by Indonesia during  the 2023 el-nino  season yesterday, rice production throughout the 2023 period decreased by 1.39% or approximately 440 thousand tons compared to the previous year, production from the rice harvest throughout 2023 amounted to 53.98 million tons of GKG (Giring Dry Grain) down 1.40% from 54.75 million in 2022. Although there are many factors behind it, the climate change factors that are highlighted because the causes are very complex, starting from the reasons why humans want to control more production factors to the willingness to exploit massive resources that directly or indirectly contribute to climate change and result in a decline in the economy.  Â
Â
Data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry regarding planned or not deforestation during the 2013 period amounted to 4.22 million hectares. This amount is not small if we pay attention to the environmental aspect, how much waste gas goes directly to the top without being sucked up by beautiful nature. Not to mention when talking about air quality published by iQair. Our country's position in the data published by IQAir in 2023 yesterday touched an average of 105 by occupying the 14th position of 134 countries with the
worst air quality in the world. The index can go up or down depending on the awareness of all parties, especially the government.
What is happening now is that the government with large corporations is increasingly biased, the government that was once known as the main authority in maintaining the welfare of the people is now increasingly tempted by capital outflows and large investment flows from capital owners (Investors). Recent government decisions have shifted from pro-people to pro-capitalist. For example, recently there was an issue regarding the plan to impose a 12% VAT tax which caused rejection reactions everywhere to the plan of the ojol who are not allowed to use pertalite which is based on reasons that are still biased, while the fair welfare in the community is still questionable? Because lately, more and more middle-class people have been downgraded to the poor because of many factors such as the sluggish economic sector and the rising cost of living that have shaken the economy.
Policy-making often experiences gaps, such as political lobbying during the election season to save their efforts even though it is detrimental from an environmental perspective, while the voices of ordinary people are increasingly ignored by interested parties. Which in the end boosts the economy and sacrifices other sectors that are important for a green and sustainable economy.
